In May this year my Dutchie and I finally got to go on our first holiday together!
After looking at thousands of potential hotels and several holiday locations, we finally decided on Costa Adeje in Tenerife.
Due to an early flight from Amsterdam, we decided to start our holiday a day earlier and stay in at a hotel near the airport.

Starting our holiday with a lovely view.
The flight was surprisingly quick although somewhere over the ocean, I looked out the window and started to slightly freak out. I used to be a really bad flyer but had got a lot better due to the year of traveling to and from the UK to see my Dutchie.
We had stayed at the Lagos de Fañabé hotel which was just minutes from the beach. It was a nice hotel, it was unfortunately under a lot on construction when we arrived so we had to put up with some of the pools and bars being closed. However they had their sister hotel right next door that we could go into and we actually spent most of our time there.

The view from our balcony
We were looking for a holiday were we could recharge our batteries. We had no idea that Costa Adeje would have been the perfect location.
Lets just take a moment to appreciate the views that we got to wake up to every day.
The first rule when your on holiday… drink plenty of cocktails! Oh and we did. These were the only two that lasted long enough for me to take a picture.
One of my regrets of this holiday is not doing so many tourist attractions like going to see the volcano, we mainly just walked around and relaxed.
One day however we did accidentally walk to Los Cristianos. I am sure you are thinking how do you accidentally walk to a town, but trust me, it can happen. We had woken up around 6.30am and couldn’t sleep much longer, so got up. We were one of the first down for the breakfast, starting at 7.30am and by 8am we were like ‘what should we do now’?
We decided to walk off our breakfast and see where our feet take us. After about 2 hours, we finally asked someone where we where to be told that we were in Playa de la Américas and not to far from Los Cristianos.
These are some of the snap from our walk to Los Cristianos.
Like we hadn’t walked enough, we did try and attempt to climb the mountain that was behind our hotel. We picked the right day to go, because we got not much further than this before it poured down with rain.

Look at those clouds!
We did attempt to climb the mountain a second time and we did get closer to the top but picked a really warm day, the heat got to me and I gave up so close to the top. It was definitely worth it for the views alone.
More lovely coastal views of Costa Adeje.
We were actually all inclusive at our hotel but we did venture out to taste the local food… And as you can tell we chicken out and went for the safe options with food we knew we liked.
Oh and a little side note, that green bread was garlic bread that stayed in my tastebuds for 2 whole days after eating it. I tried everything to get rid of the smell/taste with no luck. My poor Dutchie was so close to sleeping on the couch it was that bad.
Okay… these are the last pictures of the beautiful scenery, I know I must be making you jealous.

We survived our first holiday away together, and we truly had the best time together and it actually solidified that we are perfect for each other.
It really was such a lovely, but quick holiday and so hard to say goodbye to such a beautiful place.

The beautiful sunset on our last night
Heres to our next holiday away.
